This movie choice was picked by my fiancé, who had been itching to see this movie for a while. Not that I didn’t want to see it, but I can say that if I hadn’t watched it, it wouldn’t have been the end of the world for me. But by time the credits were rolling, I was glad that I had taken the time to watch it.

Starring Liam Nissen, The Grey tells the story of survival of a group of workers in Alaska after their flight crashes in the snowy tundra. With only a few survivors from the crash, they decide to stick together and try to find their way to salvation. But the goal for survival becomes tricky when a pack of wolves decides to follow their every move and attack when possible. Now the elements are not the only thing the group must survive, and as the days go on, survival becomes more and more important.

I think this is probably one of the most depressing movies I’ve ever watched. The scariest part was the plane crash. The scene was so realistic that it made me glad I’m not taking any flights any time soon. Throughout the rest of the movie, I was on the edge of my seat looking for any signs that the wolves would attack, which made the movie very suspenseful.

Months before I saw this movie, my sister told me the plot and what happens. Even though I knew the ending it was still heart breaking, but, at the same time, hopeful. If you don’t mind your heart being ripped out of your chest, this is definitely a movie I would recommend watching.
