Movie Review: Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’

Years after his demise, two of Frieza’s cronies head to Earth to collect the Dragon Balls and revive Frieza. Alive once more, Frieza is determined to seek his revenge on the Saiyans. Will Goku be able to defeat Frieza this time, or has he met his match?

I didn’t even know this movie existed until my husband saw it was playing at a movie theater close to our house. Needless to say, we had to go see it, and it did not disappoint. The storyline was typical for Dragon Ball, but it recapped some instances in the series that helped remind viewers what had previously happened. And there were plenty of jokes in the dialogue that had me (and many others) laughing out loud. However, there were also a few instances of major foreshadowing that I felt stupid that I didn’t see from when they were first mentioned because they were pretty obvious.

After binge watching the entire Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z series last year, it was exciting to be watching one of the movies on the big screen (and even better that we were in a theater full of fellow fans). Although it may sound weird, watching Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ was like being reunited with friends I haven’t seen in a long time. If you’re a fan of the series, I highly recommend seeing this movie.
