Fargo: A Movie Review

Based on a true story, Fargo takes place in Minnesota where a husband and father, Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy), hires two guys (Steve Bucscemi and Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife, making an agreement to split ransom money they will receive from his wealthy father-in-law (Harve Presnell). However, what was originally agreed to be a non-violent kidnapping ends up leaving 3 people dead. Now with the police involved, the kidnappers try to lay low while Jerry continues to keep his involvement in the incident quiet.

I bought a copy of this movie because my dad always raves about how amazing it is and was very put down when he couldn’t find it through On Demand. He told me that it was a Dark Comedy and after watching it I could see what he meant. It definitely wouldn’t be listed as a regular comedy because the kidnapping and murder of people is far from funny, but the way that the acts are carried out and the lines that the actors give bring a twist of hilarity into it.
